This morning, while most enjoyed their well earned long weekend, 40 Dragons swimmers were preparing to try some of the more difficult swimming events. 400m Freestyle and 200m IM are two of the most challenging events on the swimming calendar and swimmers need stamina, speed and skill to complete them and swim a fast time.
With swimmers as young as year 3 (yes, year 3!! Well done Maxi and Kendra on their 400m Freestyle swims), having a go at the races, we saw swimmers push themselves to not only achieve new PB times but also to practice skills over such a long distance.
It was also exciting watching the progression of times through the heats towards some excellent times from our secondary swimmers.
Having a go and enjoying the challenge was the aim of the day, and it certainly goes down as a success.
Our next outing will be for our inaugeral Colours Meet. Details to be announced soon!
